Airtel started the testing of VOLTE Beta programme in several cities of India.To sign up for Airtel’s VoLTE Beta Program, the customer should be from one of the circles where it offers VoLTE services. The programme is available only in select circles including – Kolkata, Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. The second requirement to be a part of the VoLTE programme, the subscriber should have a VoLTE capable phone and an Airtel 4G SIM card.
Airtel is inviting users to test out the newly launched VoLTE Beta programme and in return giving away free data benefits to them. The telecom operator basically wants customers to provide early feedback which the company will use to improve its services and network quality. In exchange for the feedback, Airtel is offering up to 30GB of free 4G LTE data to the subscribers. But, this is for select Airtel users only, as the programme is live only in a few states currently.
How can you claim your Airtel VOLTE Beta Programme?
However, there is a catch here as this free data is not a one-time sign-up reward. In order to ensure that users don’t use the program to eke out free data without providing any feedback, Airtel has spaced the 30 GB free data out into installments which will be awarded based on how long the beta tester provides the company with relevant feedback.
The first installment of 10 GB LTE data is provided on signing up for the program, after which the user is expected to update to the latest firmware in order to switch the VoLTE feature on. The second installment of another 10 GB is awarded once the user has regularly provided Airtel feedback for four weeks. The remaining 10 GB is awarded after eight weeks of testing.
In order to sign up for Airtel’s VoLTE Beta Program, one prerogative is that the user has to be from one the circles where it offers VoLTE. This list only includes West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Kerala, Bihar, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. The second requirement is that the user must have a VoLTE capable phone and an Airtel 4G SIM card. Once you have these boxes ticked, you can go ahead and sign up for the Beta program.
